Co2 Laser

What is it?

The CO₂ Fractional Laser is an advanced resurfacing treatment designed to dramatically improve skin texture, tone, and overall quality. It works by creating microscopic columns of thermal injury in the skin, stimulating powerful collagen remodelling while leaving surrounding tissue intact for faster healing. This controlled renewal makes it highly effective for deep acne scars, wrinkles, pigmentation, open pores, and overall skin rejuvenation. By precisely targeting damaged skin layers, the CO₂ laser reduces imperfections, smoothens rough texture, and restores firmness. Over time, new collagen forms, leading to visibly tighter, clearer, and more youthful-looking skin.

Uses of CO₂ Fractional Laser

  • Deep acne scars (ice-pick, rolling, boxcar)
  • Fine lines & wrinkles
  • Uneven skin texture
  • Pigmentation & sun damage
  • Enlarged pores
  • Skin laxity
  • Stretch marks
  • Surgical & traumatic scars

How it Works

The CO₂ Fractional Laser delivers focused beams of light that penetrate the deeper layers of the skin, creating micro-injuries called “fractionated columns.” This triggers the skin’s natural healing response, boosting collagen and elastin production.

Because only a fraction of the skin is treated at a time, healing is quicker and results are more uniform. As new cells regenerate, the skin becomes smoother, firmer, and more refined.

Treatment is customised depending on the concern — from mild resurfacing to deeper corrective work.

What to expect before & after CO₂ Fractional Laser

  • Most clients experience redness, warmth, and mild swelling immediately after treatment, similar to a sunburn. Tiny brown “micro-crusts” may appear over the next few days as the skin renews itself.
  • Downtime: 3–7 days depending on intensity.
  • Result: Improvement begins within 1–2 weeks, with full collagen remodelling continuing for 2–3 months.
  • Makeup can typically be applied once the micro-crusting has shed.

Important Notes

Skin Sensitivity: Not recommended for very sensitive skin types, active acne, certain medical conditions, or darker skin tones without a dermatologist’s assessment.

Sun Protection: Strict sunscreen use is essential after treatment to prevent pigmentation or delayed healing.

Pre-Treatment Care: Avoid active skincare (retinoids, AHAs/BHAs), waxing, and direct sun exposure for at least one week before treatment.

Consultation: CO₂ Laser is a medical-grade procedure. A detailed evaluation with the dermatologist is crucial to determine suitability, intensity required, and expected results.
