low-level-laser-treatment

What is it?
Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) is a safe, non-invasive treatment that uses low-intensity laser light to stimulate cellular repair, improve circulation, and enhance hair growth. Unlike high-powered lasers, LLLT does not heat or damage the skin. Instead, it delivers gentle, therapeutic light that revitalises hair follicles, strengthens thinning hair, and slows down hair fall. It is an excellent option for individuals experiencing early-to-moderate hair thinning, pattern hair loss, or post-transplant recovery.
Uses of LLLT
  • Early-stage male and female pattern baldness
  • Diffuse thinning
  • Hair fall caused by stress or hormonal changes
  • Weak, miniaturised, or slow-growing hair
  • Post–hair transplant support for improved results
  • Improving scalp health and blood circulation
How it Works

LLLT uses specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light to energise hair follicle cells and promote healthier growth. When absorbed by the scalp, the light:

  • Boosts cellular energy (ATP production)
  • Improves blood flow and oxygen supply to follicles
  • Reduces inflammation around hair roots
  • Extends the growth (anagen) phase of hair
  • Strengthens existing strands and encourages new growth

The treatment is painless and relaxing, delivered through a specialised laser hood or handheld device positioned comfortably over the scalp. Over a series of sessions, hair becomes stronger, fuller, and more resilient.

What to Expect Before & After LLLT

LLLT is a gentle procedure with zero downtime. You can return to work immediately after the session.

During treatment:

  • You’ll sit comfortably while the device emits low-level light onto the scalp.
  • No heat, discomfort, or noise is felt.

After treatment:

  • Hair may feel slightly stimulated or warm due to increased circulation.
  • Gradual improvements are seen over 8–12 weeks, with best results after consistent sessions.
  • Works best when combined with PRP/GFC, medication, or post-transplant care.
Important Notes
  • Consistency is key: LLLT requires regular sessions to maintain results.
  • Not suitable for everyone: Severe baldness or inactive follicles may not respond.
  • Medical guidance essential: Always consult your dermatologist to determine whether LLLT is suitable for your hair loss pattern.
  • Combination care offers best outcomes: Works synergistically with PRP, GFC, Mesotherapy, and oral medications.
