PRP & GFC THERAPY - HAIR & FACE
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy is a non-surgical treatment option for hair loss. It uses your own platelets and growth factors to help regrow hair, strengthen thinning hair, and improve scalp health.
PRP works best in early to moderate hair loss by revitalising existing hair follicles and slowing further thinning.
Both treatments use your own blood to stimulate hair growth.
- A small amount of blood is drawn.
- It is processed to isolate platelets or concentrated growth factors.
- The prepared solution is injected into targeted areas of the scalp.
- Growth factors stimulate dormant follicles, improve blood circulation, and strengthen hair roots.
PRP may be combined with procedures like dermarolling to enhance absorption and outcomes.
These treatments are effective for:
- Sudden hair shedding
- Androgenetic alopecia (male and female pattern hair loss)
- Thinning hair and reduced density
- Receding hairline
- Crown and top-scalp thinning
- Weak hair roots and poor scalp health
Before the Treatment
- Scalp examination and hair loss assessment
- Blood tests may be advised if required.
- Avoid oiling the scalp on the day of treatment.
During the Treatment
- PRP or GFC is injected into the scalp using fine needles
- Mild pricking discomfort may be felt.
- Numbing cream, local anaesthesia, vibration devices, or ice compresses may be used for comfort.
After the Treatment
- Mild redness or tenderness may occur and settle within a day.
- Hair fall reduction is usually noticed first.
- New hair growth appears as soft, fine hair over time.
- Hair thickness and density improve gradually.
Recommended Protocol
- 3–6 sessions, spaced 3–4 weeks apart
- Maintenance sessions every 4–6 months, depending on hair condition
Expected Improvement
- Reduced hair fall
- Stronger, thicker existing hair
- Improved scalp health
- Visible new growth over time
GFC is generally more potent than PRP and may show faster results with fewer sessions.
- Individuals experiencing sudden or progressive hair loss
- Men with a receding hairline or crown thinning
- Women with diffuse hair thinning
- Those seeking a non-surgical hair restoration solution
- Individuals with complete baldness (no active hair follicles)
- Patients with certain blood disorders
- Those with active scalp infections or medical contraindications
A dermatologist consultation is essential to determine suitability and select the appropriate treatment.
