LASER TATTOO REMOVAL
In the past, tattoo removal methods included painful techniques like dermabrasion (scraping the skin), cryosurgery (freezing and peeling), and excision (cutting out the tattoo). However, the Q-Switch Laser method is non-invasive and leaves no scarring on the skin.
As personal preferences change, many choose to remove tattoos they once loved. Unlike older, invasive methods, Q-Switch Laser technology removes ink safely, without scarring the skin. The Q-Switch Laser uses PhotoAcoustic energy to penetrate the skin, targeting the tattoo ink. The laser causes the ink to vibrate and break into micro-particles, which are naturally processed and eliminated by the body.
Over 95% of cases experience complete removal or significant fading without scarring.
The sensation during treatment is often described as similar to the feeling of getting the tattoo – a brief, mild pinch followed by warmth. For added comfort, we offer anesthetic gel, although the need for it depends on your pain tolerance.
Tattoo removal typically takes longer than the time it took to apply the tattoo. On average, it may require anywhere from 4 to 12 sessions, spaced 10 weeks apart. The exact number of sessions depends on factors like the tattoo’s size, colour, age, ink type, skin type, and area being treated.
- Smaller or dark blue tattoos tend to respond best and typically require fewer sessions.
- Larger tattoos may need more time to fade completely or be fully removed.
After several treatments, the skin may temporarily whiten, but over time, the tattoo fades, and the skin returns to its natural colour.
A basic black tattoo could need 4-6 treatments, while a professional tattoo may require 6-12 sessions or more.
We use the USFDA-approved Tri Beam Q-Switch Nd-YAG Laser, which is safe for use on both the face and body. This advanced medical-grade laser effectively removes both professional and amateur tattoos under the care medically-trained dermatologists.
With the proven safety and effectiveness of this laser, you can trust that your tattoo removal process will be in skilled hands.
